my art impressions

My Art Impressions are eclectic pieces representing secret and magical places and their inhabitants, connecting my inner world with nature and life in all its diversity. In these hidden spaces I find the freedom, calm, kindness and spiritual connection that is often lacking in an increasingly artificial world. I am deliberately 'analog' in my techniques as I want my pieces to convey my energy, show my vulnerabilities and reveal my very human imperfections. In this spirit, I invite you to consider whether any elements of my work resonate with your feelings and experiences. I am deeply grateful for your presence. Please do visit again as I will be regularly uploading new pieces.

portfolio

This portfolio shows examples of my artworks across different styles and media. I use acrylic paints and the papers applied to the mixed media and collages pieces are all individually created as part of the process.

What Jack Knows... 510 x 610 mm
Acrylic/Mixed Media on canvas

Pop Up Pop Art Exhibition

Jack's eyes tell me he has a lot of wisdom, especially about love and kindness. This work poses the unanswerable question of what he knows.

River Red Gums in the Moonlight

510 x 610 mm

Acrylic/Mixed Media

Inspired by the magnificent river red gum trees in my local parks, I re-imagined them illuminated by moonlight on the riverbanks of flowing ancient rivers.

*River Red Gums thrive along riverbanks and floodplains, they grow up to 45 meters tall, live for 500–1000 years, and provide essential habitats, making them ecologically and culturally significant.

About me

I believe that through kindness, compassion and love we transcend the purely physical dimensions of existence. Alongside a long career as a leader in the public services sector, I have nurtured a growing interest in the power of art and other modalities to bridge into the metaphysical dimensions of the human experience. These interests have now turned into passions and the works you see here are my attempt to express these deeper connections and hopefully spark some recognition in others.

May you and all beings be well, happy and at peace*.

May all beings be safe.

May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature.

May all beings be free.
